You may think, why is there an article on watch on a travel blog. You can consider this as a part of my life journey. Yes, I am also into watches nowadays. Learning about watches gives me a lot of satisfaction, so here it is.
Am very happy that the first watch to write is a special one. It’s a watch from Delhi Watch Company, an affordable Indian microbrand which is popular among watch lovers nowadays. I have missed their earlier releases since I was not aware of them at that time. This time I placed an order for one when it popped up on their website this September. It’s DWC Devanagari.

DWC Devanagari : First impression
I had to wait a couple of days to get the watch. It came with a nice pouch. DWC Devanagari is an elegant dress watch. Mostly for our business and formal occasions.Even I wore it on a couple of casual occasions also. The watch is minimalist in appearance. The DWC Devanagari is available in two dial colors, white and sky blue. The white dial grabbed all my attention,so I bought one. It comes with black strap. The contrast of white dial and black hands was more appealing for me.
The fonts are the eye catcher, they are in Devanagari script. This unknown script on the dial is not a problem to read time. We are used to watches with just index marks. The fonts obviously create a curiosity for you as well as others. The metal indicators are placed into the dial very nicely. The “DWC” and “Devanagari” logo is placed on the 12 perfectly.
The main dial has only two hands, hour and seconds. The watch uses Miyota 1L45 Quartz movement which has a seconds hand dial at 6 to show us the time. The prominent material of the watch is steel. You can feel that once you take it in hand. The case thickness is very thin, 7 mm which makes some of the edges sharp. It is DWC’s thinnest watch so far.

You can find the DWC logos and branding in a couple of places like the case back and the buckle. They are placed nicely. The leather straps feel good to touch and have good finishing.
Aesthetic wise, the makers did a good job impressing many people including me. They are limited to 500 pieces. Ever since I visited their websites and saw their watches, I was hoping to get one pretty soon. Am glad that Devanagari came first and it definitely will not be the last. I will be watching their releases and will see how it goes. Some of their early releases were good like the Heritage collection and Everest summit series.
Even though I am impressed by how it looks while holding. The lug length seems pretty long for me. The lugs on both sides cover a major part of my wrists. This isn’t a big issue. Still, I had to admit I was concerned about it for a long time. After wearing it for some days, the problem is kinda sorted out. The dial looks stunning for my skin color. The lights bounce nicely from the watch. The leather straps and the stitches have nice finish.
It look pretty decent with whatever I wear in the office.
As I mentioned in the beginning, DWC is an affordable micro watch brand. I like them for that reason as well. The watch cost me around 2000 INR. It is a good deal at this price. Within a few days, the sky blue dial went out of stock on the website before white dials. The blue dial seems more likable for many.
Update : I couldn’t connect much with the watch later and decided to let it go
